The PCO's membership spans the best, most experienced and most widely published full-time, professional cartoonists and caricaturists in the UK.
They understand the needs of clients. They are prompt and reliable and they offer a wide range of skills: one-off jokes, political cartoons, caricature, humorous illustration, comics, large-scale work, animation and live performance.
Of course, their styles differ, but one thing unites all PCO members: their ability to unleash the unrivalled power of a visual joke, comment or caricature.
You can find brief details of the patrons of our organisation here.
All initial enquiries should be made to the PCO Membership Secretary.
The PCO strives to represent the best of British cartooning talent. With this in mind membership is restricted to full-time professional cartoonists working in the UK today.
Applications are carefully scrutinised and voted upon by the whole committee, taking into consideration, amongst other things, the artwork and client-base of the applicant. Whilst each application is judged individually, upon its particular merits, applicants should bear in mind the following guidelines:
There should be a strong humour element in all artwork, whether gag cartoon, humorous illustration, comic illustration, caricature or other.
Illustration which simply uses a cartoon-like style, will not necessarily qualify.
The PCO definition of full-time cartoonist is one who earns a significant proportion of his or her income from sales of cartoon work.
