Hello there! I’m Stevyn and I’ve trodden something of an odd career path. I was a chef for two years. Then a policeman for 30 years in London. Then I wrote a book (Joined-Up Thinking – Pan Macmillan 2009) and then another one (Henhwedhlow – Kowethas 2010) and, recently, a third called Constable Colgan’s Connectoscope (Unbound 2013). Throughout it all, I have remained a working artist, illustrating the odd book here and there, doing cartoons and making movie monsters for Bruce Willis to shoot at.
I was the official artist for the 2006 National Autumn Children’s Book Fair for Scholastic Books and am a regular contributor to the QI Annuals (Faber and Faber). I am now one of the writers of QI and its sister show – The Museum of Curiosity – on BBC Radio 4.
I work in pen and inks, acrylics and digital and I’m available for commercial work, private commissions and nude underwater basketry.
