Show of support at Edinburgh Festival for imprisoned Iranian cartoonist
Cartoonists from around the globe, including The Observer’s Chris Riddell, came out in support of Atena Farghadani at the Edinburgh Festival. In June, following a trial that lasted just half an hour, Iran sentenced the 29 year old cartoonist to more than 12 years in prison. Her crime? “Insulting members of parliament through paintings”.
