Herne Bay Cartoon Festival 2025 – photo gallery

Glenn Marshall (the real one, NOT the AI bot!) writes:

Once again the promise of vittles, vin rouge & vitriolic ink-slinging lured the cartooning elite (and me) down to Herne Bay for the annual Festival of Cartoonology. Photo reportage of Herne Bay Cartoon Festival, hosted by Beach Creative, courtesy of top roving snapper Kasia Kowalska.

Once more unto the Beach Creative, dear friends.

Chris (Dink) Williams and Wilbur (Wilbur) Dawbarn

Gag-o-matic Royston Robertson coming up with more cartoon ideas than the rest of us put together and Ed (Nay) Naylor modelling some PCO merch.

Nay, Burke and Banx. Sounds like a suburban solicitors…or Cockney rhyming slang.

James Mellor making a start and part of KJ Lamb’s finished board (Kathryn had headed for the hills by the time Kasia did her final photo rounds so sadly no full action shot though you do get a third of a KJ on the right of the previous photo)

A behind-the-scenes look at Ben Chilton and Tom Johnson in action.

Des Buckley looking like he’s got more paint on his apron than the canvas and a bit of whale Songi.

PCO’s very own commitee members Chair Clive Goddard and Chaise Longues Jeremy Banx.

Board shorts.

John Landers water-boarding and Elliot Lord canvassing opinion.

There were widespread protests aimed at the organisers for replacing a festival stalwart with art droid MarshAI.

Dave Brown peddling shit creek.

A reclining Martin Rowson with his creation.

Chris Burke working on heraldic festival branding.

Meanwhile indoors Andrew Birch (The Angry Cartoonist) and Sharpie-locked-and-loaded Alex Hughes were toiling away drawing caricatures of the masses.

Two of ‘the masses’…well, festival regular supporters Karol and Andy with their caricatures by Andrew and Alex.

The traditional end of the day cartoonists group shot.

Thanks to all the team at Beach Creative for making this year’s celebrations happen.
