‘Oh didn’t we have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor!’ (Note to self: change destination)
Another year, another glorious cartoon festival and this time for the live-drawing day we returned to the sea front and Herne Bay bandstand. We hadn’t been there since 2015.
Matters were slightly complicated by the area being shrunk due to renovation work but the upside was we had a readymade wall that was partitioned off by the builders.

So let’s take a stroll along the wall and see what everyone was doing. The first few were fortunate enough to work in the shade under the arch leading into the bandstand – for the rest of us it was sunglasses, hats and factor 30.

The end of the wall was presided over by The Surreal McCoy and was set aside for anyone, predominantly children, to create on. I was very disappointed there was not a single drawing of genitals….what is wrong with the youth of today?
Fact check by Royston: there were lots of drawings of genitalia but they were either amended or covered up with white paint! Ah well done the youth of Herne Bay. It’s normally Martin and Dave Brown we rely on the genitals in the drawings.
