Intro by Sarah Boyce:
Have you noticed it’s getting darker in the evenings and things are getting spookier? The owl hooting a bit too loudly, the werewolf howling far off in the distance, the gate weirdly clanking when there’s no wind? To celebrate the spooky, spirit season West End Arts Library at 35 St Martins Lane in London will be hosting #thingsthatgobumpinthenight a @procartoonists Cartoon Exhibition of Halloween Howlers.
On from 20-31 October, but be sure to be on your way home by 8pm before the ghosts and ghouls and zombies start their walkabout….

On 28th October, 3.00-4.00pm join members of the Professional Cartoonists’ Organisation for a fun hour of drawing ghosts and ghoulies and all things scary! Materials provided.
Your ghosts hosts will be:
Carol Isaacs, aka The Surreal McCoy cartoonist published in the New Yorker, Private Eye etc and Clive Goddard, award winning Private Eye cartoonist AND PCO chairhuman no less.
It’s free but you need to reserve places here.

Apart from our exhibition, Westminster Refernce Library is well worth a visit anyway as it specialises in art and design (its archive also includes every issue of Punch and Private Eye)

Some of the bound Punch volumes in the bowels of the library.
