This event was dreamed up after some light refreshment with myself Mark Winter and Jeremy Banks one cold night in SE10, also spurred on by Martin Rowson not too far away in SE13. Greenwich has a couple of local pubs with empty soulless walls so we thought why not try and fill one of them with wonderful cartoons for a short period while giving the locals the chance to purchase a print.  Firstly the pub wins with more footfall, secondly the cartoonists win because someone might buy something and there’s another excuse to pop down the boozer!

After a bit of to and fro The Duke of Greenwich pub agreed and the date was set. I kept the theme simple (Pubs and bars near me) and started out on a quest to ensnare a few cartoonists, using the ‘if you don’t ask, you don’t get’ method. Amazingly I’ve had a lot of yes’s from some really top cartoonists. (Examples attached)

So if you are in the area pop in and have a look over a pint or maybe some grub (they have a lovely menu).
